This afternoon when I was zapping on TV. (yeah, that is the thing I mostly do, when I get the TV remote control... I rarely watch TV and when I do, I zap more than I watch... for those who don't know what zapping means, let me brief it to you, zapping means to use remote control device to change channels... obsessively) India's got talent, caught hold of me. I'd seen some of there auditions. I stuck back to the same channel and watched it for a while... it was the repeat telecast of 3rd semi-final.
After a few performances, Nikhil and Aushmaan (the hosts of the show) announced Jasleen Royal's (pardon me, if there is a spelling mistake) performance. I had seen this young girl having an "I don't care" attitude, even in the auditions (which I had again caught while zapping, the other day), in auditions she played guitar, played harmonica and sang "Phir dekhiye" from the movie "Rock on!!" all together! And today, she played keyboards, played harmonica and sang "Khoon chala" from the movie "Rang de basanti". I don't say that this girl is someone who is outstanding or performs brilliantly, but there is "something" about this girl that keeps me stuck with the same channel no matter what... this "something" is something I cannot define. Even one of the judges of the show Mr. Shekhar Kapoor, said that she has "something" in her that if a person is passing by and hears her singing all alone, he'll come back to her, stay back and listen to whole of her song and would appreciate her talent.
I've a friend who brilliant voice... he has this "something" factor in his voice... "something" that every time we talk or he sings, I urge for more... I keep on hearing him again and again and many times I've tried to explain him that he has "something" in his voice and when he asks me to define it... I have no words! I've felt this "something" in few other singers like Mohit Chauhan, Atif Aslam, Xulfi, Meghna Bharadwaj... if I try to define it, I would say that these people have a calm in their voice... the perfect word to describe it would be sukoon... yeah, this is what they have... but I still love to call it the "something factor"
Any way, this was not my point... my point was, after listening to Jasleen's song, I had a sudden desire to play harmonica... so now, the real story started. I was unable to place my harmonica! I started digging my drawer where I keep all the stuff I need... I found toffees, greeting cards, pens, my diary, orbit, mobile phone charger, post it... and the list goes long... I found all the crap I didn't intend to, but couldn't get the harmonica. I searched for it in other drawers and cupboards, but couldn't find it! God I was so disappointed... I just wished that if there was any way I could have found it... I came back to my room and decided to have some rest... I sat on my chair and just then a very wired thought came into my mind... "Hey! Why don't I Google it?!" My frowned face lit up in a moment and the very next moment it drained! I thought, "Have I gone mad?! How can I Google my harmonica?"
But then I just loved the idea of having a search engine at my home... imagine, next time when I misplace something, I'll just reach the search engine, type in the misplace thing, hit enter and bang! there the thing is! without any tiresome hunting, I'll find the lost thing so easily... like, next time I misplace my mobile phone, on silent mode, I won't have to curse myself to misplace it on silent mode, I'll just Google it... and find it... you see... then I won't have to organise my room I won't have to keep my things in proper place, I won't have to take care of my stuff... all I have to do is "Google it"
Imagine what a life that would be... I just wish, Google comes with some such thing like "Google your home stuff" and wow! I would be the first one to install such an application! But but but... there is no such thing right now... so since I can't "Google it", I'll have to search it all by myself... so I think, I should get back to work and find my harmonica before I just lose the mood of playing it! Wish me luck guys!!!

Warning: Don't know in what mood I've written this and why am I taking the initiative to post it. But yeah, this is something, I've been feeling for a long time. To read or not to read is the reader's choice. In case, you decide to read it, "Read it at your own risk!"

Sometimes...
Sometimes, I do things for no reason, not because some has asked me to do or not to do... I do just because I wish to do that.
Sometimes, I cry fro no reason
Sometimes, I laugh for no reason
Sometimes, I don't feel like speaking and spend hours in silence
Sometimes, I just stop feeling.
Sometimes, I think too much.
Sometime, I just keep on talking for no reason, on noparticular topic.
Sometimes, I'm just too happy.
Sometimes, I enjoy the rains and sometimes I hate them.
Sometimes, I miss my dear ones so much, that I cry remembering them even if just yesterday that I've talked to them.
Sometimes, even if my dear ones are sitting just next to me, I don't feel like saying a single word. I let the silence do all the talking.
Sometimes, I've no answer to obvious questions.
Sometimes, I'm a kid, sometimes I'm matured enough.
Sometimes, I feel like dancing. (?) (!)
Sometimes I don't sing even if somebody is requesting to me from the bottom of his(/her) heart.
Sometimes, I fightwith my dear ones for no reason.
Sometimes, I feel sorry for no reason.
Sometimes, I feel, I don't deserve "something".
Sometimes, I compare myself to machines (!) (?) and think that I don't have a heart or I don't have any emotions. (!) (?)
Sometimes, I write, just because I feel like writing... no matter how insane the topic is, or no matter what ever crap I'm jotting down... I keep on writing...
Sometimes...
Sometimes...
Sometimes...
Why do I do such things at times? Am I insane? An idiot? Psycho? Frustrated? Weird? What?
Whatever! I don't know, why I do these things, but I do them and this is the eternal truth my life! Accept it or not! But it has been happening with me, it is happening with me and it will keep on happening with me... don't know why, what, how when... might be this is "Being me"!

A few days back I was having a conversation with my mom about a story that I wrote, it was In Love... accidentally. I was narrating the story to her. She was trying to predict what was going to happen next in the story (I've the same habit! Rather I think ever reader, listener or spectator has a habit of predicting-what will happen next
) To my surprise, she was correct almost every time!
Later, I found a comment on an Orkut community for another story (Story Time) from a guy, who probably doesn't even know me, that he could easily predict the end.
This made me think, that if the reader could predict the end of the story is it writer's incapability? When I asked this question to my mom, she said that it was indeed 'writer's incapability' that he/she could not hold the suspense till the end. I gave more thought on the issue and then said, "In that case, for me 90% of the writers in this world are incapable. Because, I mostly predict the end and that too exactly the same as the writer has written!"
Though we ended the conversation on that note, I was not convinced with the thinking that correct prediction about the end by the reader is 'writer's incapability'. According to me it's not always a writer's incapability... it's just that might be the reader is familiar with the style of writing of the writer or may be the reader is too imaginative. Leave my issue, I perhaps don't even fall in the category of writers, because I've a long way to go. But a person who is a well known writer, some of his books are best sellers, how can he be so careless that he doesn't make an effort that his piece of writing should not be predictable?!
If you ask my opinion that is NOT the 'writer's incapability', it is the 'reader's capacity'!
But I want to know your opinion, I want to know what you people think about it... feel free to express your views, no matter whether you are a writer or not, no matter what or how much you read. Just post a comment and let me know what you think about the topic.

Just as I got up this morning, I found that the Sun is smiling on me with His golden rays, making my day bright. It was a few minutes past the dawn, but I very happy to see Mr. Sun after a long time. Past three four days, it had been cloudy and foggy out here and I had missed Mr. Sun badly. A little time later, I switched on the FM while having the breakfast. At the very moment the RJ ended with the conversation with a caller and announced for a song. I hung on the same station rather than going for a change. The very next moment, I heard a very familier music and then heard Mohit Chauhan singing with his soothing voice, Na hai ye paana, na khona hi hai... and my heart jumped out with joy! I think it's more than two years this song is on air, but since then this has been my favourite number. I gave my breakfast a break and started singing along, tapping my feet, nodding my head "Tera na hona jane, kyoun hona hi hai... Tum se hi din hota hai, surmayi shaam aati hai, Tum se hi, Tum se hi... Har ghadi saans aati hai, zindagi kehelati hai, Tum se hi, tum se hi..." When ever I hear this song on radio, on my ipod on my PC or any other place, I just stick at the same place rather than give a hit to next! No matter how many times a day, I hear this song, I just can't stop listening it! Once I remember, I heard this song three times in one go on three different radio stations. The moment this song ended on one station, I switched to the next station and they were playing the same song and a few minutes later same song on the very next FM station. I remember the time when the song just released, I played the same song for whole day and heard it over more than a hundred times!
By this time the song on the FM station ended and I was done with my breakfast. I was humming the song on my way to work, when a thought crept into my mind. "Why am I so happy today?" my mind read. "I didn't get any big news today nor it was some memorable day of my life in the past, nor any of my much awaited result was out! Then what made me so happy?" Just then I thought of the two small things that made my day, the golden Sun rays after a long time and the beautiful song on FM. Small but powerful and effective things!
Small things in life, how much do they affect you? Have you ever wondered that we, for a long time, wait for BIG things to happen and make us happy and look upon the small things, the total of which can bring more happiness to us compared to the BIG things. If not, ponder over it some time, sitting alone, peacefully, mind full of thoughts and memories. When you look back you will find that there are handful of BIG days that you remember laughing out your heart or crying out of joy, but the bag of memories, will be full of smaller things that just made you smile. BIG days, like the time you stood first in your school/university, cleared some BIG competitive exam, met the one of your life, the day you got married or had your first child. But believe me, small is beautiful! These things may seem small to you, but make me happier than any other thing(s)...
Sound of tiny droplets of rain
Fragrance of soil after the first rain
Feeling the tiny rain droplets while driving
Golden Sun rays after a week of rainy or foggy days
A refreshing cup of hot chocolate, after a long tiring day
A lazy weekend after a week's hard work
A dinner full of love and affection with family after the lunch with the clients
An unexpected sms or phone call from a friend, after a long time
A conversation over the phone with a friend whom I've not met for a long time
Even a stupid and old joke makes me laugh, if a friend narrates it to me
A long chat with a friend even if I met him/her a day before
A good bye sms, just after hanging the phone call
Accidentally meeting a friend in the market or traffic signal
Happy Birthday wish made at mid-night
A long awaited wish/dream coming true
Small things I prefer...
A tight, cosy, bear hug from a dear friend over inexpensive gifts and cards because a hug can express more!
An evening with parents over a party with strangers
I enjoy sharing the pop corn over a movie, in a theater
A small walk over a long drive
A cup full of talks at my place over the one full of bills at some restaurant
Three golden words over a bouquet full of red roses
A priceless smile over a very expensive gift
A simple sms saying Hi over a long forward message
A small surprise over a big planning
A small debate over a big fight
Home made good food, over the one cooked by the best chef
A difference of opinion over similar thinking in every matter
A smile over a loud laughter
A poem over a story
A small "miss you" over the whole day long hiccups
An instant reaction over an answer after a long pause of thoughts
A beautiful Sunset over a movie or dinner at some expensive place
Any thing that is unexpected makes me happy, no matter how small it is! I love any thing that makes me smile instantly, it doesn't matter how big or small it is, it should be full of affection.
For me, small things in life, bring happiness... :)
